Realign Therapy was not born in a boardroom. It was born from lived experience — from sitting in therapy rooms where we had to translate our entire existence before we could even begin to talk about what was hurting us.
For too long, therapy has overlooked the needs of Muslim clients, people of colour, and those from diverse cultural backgrounds. Much of that failure comes from practitioners working within frameworks that were never designed with our communities in mind.
"Neutrality" has a history. And it has consequences.
When faith is treated as a symptom rather than a source of strength, when culture is overlooked, when race is stripped from conversations about identity, belonging, and suffering — people from our communities are left feeling misunderstood rather than supported.
We did not start Realign Therapy because the system was broken in theory. We started it because we sat in those rooms ourselves. Rooms where our faith was questioned rather than respected. Rooms where our cultural values were pathologised rather than understood. Rooms where we had to explain who we were before we could even begin to explore what we were feeling.
That experience left us with a question that would not go away: what if therapy could actually meet people where they are, instead of asking them to leave part of themselves at the door?
You should not have to choose between your faith and your healing.
Therapy should meet you where you are, not ask you to leave part of yourself at the door.
Realign Therapy exists because we believe that culturally aware, faith-sensitive therapy should not be the exception — it should be the standard. Every therapist on our team understands the cultural, spiritual, and racial realities our clients live with every day. Not because they read about it in a textbook, but because they have lived it too.
We built a practice where your faith is honoured, your culture is understood, and your identity is never something you have to explain away. A practice where healing happens on your terms.
We see your faith as a resource for healing, not an obstacle to it. Our therapists integrate spiritual awareness into every session.
You will never have to explain your background before you can talk about your feelings. Our therapists already understand.
Our team comes from the communities we serve. We know what it means to navigate life as a Muslim or person of colour in Britain.
